Try it in two minutes

In short. If you use Claude Code, you already have session logs on your computer. Open Record, drop one in, press Check. You will see whether the agent repeated something you refused, and whether it wrote outside the folder you gave it. Your file stays in your browser.

You need a laptop or desktop browser. Desk asks for a window at least 1024 pixels wide.

1. Find a session log

Claude Code keeps one file per session in a hidden folder in your home folder:

~/.claude/projects/<one folder per project>/<session id>.jsonl

On a Mac, the quickest way there is from the file picker: when it opens, press ⌘ Shift G, type ~/.claude/projects and press Return. Pick any project folder, then any .jsonl file inside it. The most recent one is a good start.

2. Open Record

Go to habitat.ooo/desk/record and enter the Desk password. Until it is fully vetted, Record is behind it; ask for the password at hello@thecommons.ooo.

3. Add the file

Click + Add a document at the top left and pick your log. Or drag the file anywhere onto the page.

The middle of the page now shows the file's name, "agent session log", the date and time of the session, and its first request. Underneath, it lists the three checks that will run.

4. Press Check

Click Check at the bottom of the page (or press ⌘ Return). Each check prints one line:

  • ✓ means clear: nothing of that kind happened.
  • ● means found: it happened, and the line says how many times and when.
  • ✗ means the check could not run on this file.

Under Repeat and Scope is each rule's limit: what it cannot see. Fingerprint is an exact hash and prints no limit.

5. Look at what happened

The drawer on the right, The record, lists the session in order: what you asked, what the agent did, what it saw, and every action you refused. A dot marks anything a check found.

6. Keep the result (optional)

In the left drawer, beside "checked" and the time, click ↓. A receipt file downloads. It is signed with a key that lives only in this browser, so anyone can later confirm that it hasn't been changed since.

What this does not tell you. Repeat recognises the refusal wording Claude Code uses today. It cannot see whether you later told the agent to go ahead. Scope counts the agent's file writes and edits. A command run in a shell is not counted. Neither check says whether the agent was right or wrong. That is yours to judge.
